Te Protejo Annual Report and Financial Statements
Te Protejo is an organization that seeks to transform the cosmetics industry in Latin America by promoting the development of innovative policies that protect the environment and end the use of animals in research.
The organization was founded in Chile in 2012 with the mission of influencing the region’s cosmetics industry ecosystem to drive regulatory changes and more ethical practices. It was also the first organization in Latin America to certify brands that do not test on animals, and it has compiled a list of local and international brands available in each country where it operates, all certified as animal-testing-free by official entities.

In 2015, it was formally established as a nonprofit corporation under the name NGO Te Protejo, founded by Camila Cortínez, Daniela Medina, and Nicole Valdebenito. Later, in late 2018, Ecobelleza SpA was created—a corporation whose primary investor is ONG Te Protejo—with the goal of developing commercial activities that contribute to funding the organization’s mission. Starting in 2019, Te Protejo established itself as the umbrella organization for both ONG Te Protejo and Ecobelleza SpA, coordinating their social and commercial initiatives to strengthen their impact in the region.
The nonprofit corporation is made up of a group of members and is led by a five-person Board of Directors, which is responsible for guiding the organization’s strategy, plans, and objectives, as well as its medium- and long-term planning. The Board of Directors is elected by the General Assembly of Members every three years, and candidates must have been members of the organization for at least one year prior to the election. Once formed, the Board of Directors internally appoints the positions of president, treasurer, and secretary. In addition, it may appoint an Executive Director responsible for leading the organization’s activities, as well as a vice president when appropriate.
For its part, the corporation is led by its principal partner, ONG Te Protejo, and its management falls under the General Manager, a position that may be held by the same person who serves as the corporation’s Executive Director. The Board of Directors of ONG Te Protejo acts as the strategic and decision-making body, with authority over both the corporation and Ecobelleza SpA.

Each year, the current Board of Directors presents the Annual Report, Balance Sheet, and Inventory for the previous year to the members and volunteers during the Annual Members’ Meeting of ONG Te Protejo. This meeting provides an opportunity to review the activities carried out and the financial statements of both ONG Te Protejo and Ecobelleza SpA.
